At the time of writing, it’s hard to believe that we’re almost 30 days into 2021 – and what a start it has been for the Blue Square Utilities team.
Last month, we took a closer look at some of the things we achieved in the face of our toughest 12 months yet – both on professional and personal levels. And, with that in mind, we thought this month should focus on what’s to come.
We spoke to our CEO, Steve Lees, to find out what the next 52 weeks has in store…
Let’s start with the numbers – and ones we’re proud of. The team installed 35,000 meters in 2020, that’s an average of 134 every single day – based on 261 working days per year.
But, we’re going even bigger this year and targeting 100,000 installations by the time we don our Christmas jumpers once again. Tripling our daily target, and aiming for a whopping 383 installations per day.
Of course, bigger targets mean we need a bigger workforce, and we’ve made no secret of the news that we’re actively looking to recruit – both in the press and via our social media feeds.
Over the course of this year, we are looking to increase our current headcount from 92 to 200 – with roles created for 98 new engineers across the country. To register your interest, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
As the UK hurtles towards its clean energy targets, we’re looking to expand our portfolio of services too. Electric vehicle charging points, solar and battery storage are under exploration – with some of our clients already having a strong reputation in such sectors.
There’re plenty of news in the pipeline for the coming weeks too – so keep your eyes on the blog for more updates from BSU HQ.
