As if our engineering team wasn’t busy enough with the raft of new smart meter installation projects we’ve got on the go across the north of England, we’re now working towards achieving our ISO 9001 certification.
Marking the international standard for a Quality Management System (QMS), once the process is complete, Blue Square Utilities (BSU) will be endorsed as a firm which adheres to the very best working practices, and one which is able to consistently provide products and services that meet customer, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
Steve Lees, CEO at BSU, said: “Demonstrating that we are committed to achieving the very highest standards of workplace practice will be a major enabler – and differentiator – when it comes to maintaining sustained growth for BSU.
“We have ploughed a significant amount of time and money into making BSU a brilliant place to work in order to attract and retain talent, and have won some significant projects this year – with several more in the pipeline. Therefore, it’s important to us, and our clients, that we continue to demonstrate that we are a leading force in this important area.”
The news comes at a pivotal time in BSU’s growth, having been awarded the contract to manage the roll-out of domestic smart meters to Scottish Power customers across the North East and Yorkshire following a successful tender with Amey – creating roles for over 50 dual fuel engineers.
